What a great article in today’s Oregonian celebrating Hillsdale’s home styles – mid-century and more! http://www.oregonlive.com/hg/index.ssf/2015/01/portland_hillsdale_houses_ever.html. Thomas Hubka says:
To hipster eastsiders, Hillsdale may evoke a monoculture suburban image, but it is home to more Jewish organizations than any other neighborhood in the city, including a distinctive Orthodox presence. It is also the envy of green advocates, with one of the most extensive urban trail systems in the country interconnecting its varied housing neighborhoods.
For information about upcoming urban hikes and trail maps, see my friend Don Baack’s website: http://www.swtrails.org. The next hike is on February 14 and hikers will undoubtedly see a variety of southwest Portland architectural styles along the way. Below are a few of the Hillsdale homes that got my attention recently.Enjoying Hillsdale this last day of January.
