Corvairs

This Corvair was parked across the street from JoLa Cafe this morning.
IMG_1863Engine is in the back, of course. Six cylinder flathead.
IMG_1864Cars transport people to different places, but raising the hood of an old car transports the mind to a different time. Staring at the engine is like sitting by a campfire and staring into the flames – memories and imagination run freely.IMG_1866 There were two other old cars there. IMG_1880Ralph Nader brought product safety to national attention. But it is nice to know that there are a few of these still on the road.
